MOTHER'S DAY

This year had a totally novel ' Mother's  Day ' . Went to Vashi Creek , with kids ( I know , they r no longer kids , both having enjoyed their voting rights , this election. )  early in the morning , for ' bird watching ' ( mind you , with its literal meaning )
Flocks  of flamingos arrived  at intervals, with wonderful patterns ,amazing discipline , apparelled  grace. The melodious notes of music created at d surface of water by  alighting birds made us almost dance.
And  you know what , we sacrificed our beauty sleeps just to watch them, and they being d celebrities....took their own sweet time to make  their special appearances  .
We were awestruck , at the site of thousands of birds in front of us.
Every single one with its  gracefully curved neck , short and slight bulky looking body n then those black long sticks...for legs ! To be very frank, i wondered for a  moment ..was God being unfair , by providing those ugly appendages to those otherwise beautiful birds ? But my doubt was cleared , the moment i saw them...literally ' walking on the water ' with such  agile steps. ( and the curved , rather prominent beak reminded me of the topic ' adaptation ' which i taught for so many  years)
The view of expanded  wings  from the ground......their beautiful  postures while flying ........every movement....turned into a celebration !
while watching all the saga....some cord struck me! what was i witnessing? Was the mother nature favouring racism or group ism?  For an onlooker , all the birds were flamingos but a keen observer could see the distinct colour bands.......white , shocking pink , and black. All the birds landed in unison , pecked in unison , flew in unison ....but still very much  maintaining their groups. But then i think that's the characteristic of the universe .........university in diversity !
As we were engrossed in admiring these seasonal guests , some locals.....our very own crows were desperately trying to seek our attention. I could see them turning green with envy, inspite of d coal black coats they are clad in ! As if they were crawling with all their might to convey us....we may not b as attractive as as those you r admiring but we are as important a link in d nature food chain. We r also at d verge of extinction. So please......do something about it! Off course , we paid no  heed to those boring creatures .
Clicked the photos to our heart's content. We were in no mood to turn to worldly matters , bt d mundane daily chores were awaiting for us. So we moved away with heavy hearts. But still major portion of that load was of pleasure n content!!!
As soon as we entered our routines , the first thing that struck was....hunger! So we turned on our heels n straight we went to ' Datt Snacks ' the most preferred food joint at palaspa fata. Relished on variety of dishes...putting aside the thought of dieting on tomorrow's agenda once more. Thus ' Mother's day Morning '  turned out to be a life long memories  of fabulous moments spent with my children.
