Decisions

Decisions

" That decision was a turning point in my life." This sentence or sentences to that effect are heard or read many times. So it really happens that a particular decision changes the course of your future, your life.
Most of the important decisions of our life are taken with much thought and thorough study of the circumstances, pros and cons of the consequences.
The decision may be taken by you alone or it may be taken collectively by taking into  consideration, point of views of your kith and kin.
Every single decision affects your future, either for short term or for long term.It affects not only you but also people around you, either for better or for worse.
Some of the decisions are taken by a person willingly and some ,out of compulsion ! In some cases, they are imposed on you.
Many times decisions taken after meticulous research & study of the situation, prove to be wrong. The consequences are devastating. We never come to know what went wrong. Where as miraculously, the decisions that we thought to be wrong, the future proves them to be the blessing in disguise!
It is generally said that ' haste makes waste '. But surprisingly, decisions taken at the spur of the moment , or by mere intuition, turn out to be the most appropriate!
Scientifically it is proved that all decisions, except those of reflex action, are taken by our brain! But in a layman's world, either it is the heart or the head that takes the decision. It goes without saying that decisions involving emotions are taken by heart. But head thinks more from the practical point of view!
People who follow their heart are sensitive in nature while headstrong people usually go in accordance with the rules and regulations, no matter what!
Each decision is either right or wrong, but only time can tell its worth.
But it so happens that in rare cases, we never know, till the end , whether the decision taken was right or wrong. Because it had not resulted in any bad circumstances, but still we keep on wondering, would the future been different, had some other decision been taken? It remains a suspense.
Of course, its not that our plans work out in the exact manner that we want, because the 'destiny' already has some definite plans  devised for us.  It is said that even nature conspires to force us to take those particular decisions, which we think, we have taken with much precision!
As for me, decision taking is an ongoing process.Smallest of our action is the resultant of a' decision' , taken , knowingly or unknowingly! For instance, right now, I have taken the decision of 'writing ' and you of 'reading'!
